Work experience week is by far one of the most nerve wracking and simultaneously exciting weeks of Year 10.

I was lucky enough to spend that week at o2Media, which is, in my option, the number 1 design and marketing agency in Warrnambool.

I was stoked at the placement because I am deeply interested in art and writing, and this would give me an opportunity to experience both elements of the creative field.

On my first day I was met by the kind staff who immediately made me feel at home. Along the way I learnt about the many fields that they work in at o2, from what an account manager does to the responsibilities of a graphic designer; both the design and marketing sides were equally interesting.

I got to partake in many tasks, including designing a logo for a furniture store, writing an article, researching, re-designing a magazine cover and spread, as well as designing illustrations for social media. In doing these tasks, I learnt many technical skills in Photoshop, Illustrator and inDesign that I will most definitely use in the future.

Overall, my week at o2Media was amazing, I loved every second of it. Before my placement I had no idea what I wanted to do after leaving school, but now I have a little more clarity.

I’d like to thank Karen and the team at o2Media for a wonderful week, and I wish you all the best for your future endeavours.
